1. Before you start

Current availability: access is limited to approved private owner testing. Public registration and downloads are not open yet. The current owner-review build has cloud video uploads and paid AI disabled. These instructions do not unlock access or change those limits.

Choose your setup
DeviceHow you use PlaySense AI
iPhone / iPadNative capture app; private testing through the approved Apple invitation. Public downloads are pending.
Android phone / tabletNative app through the approved Google Play test invitation. Physical Android acceptance is still pending.
Mac / Windows computerBrowser app. A separate desktop installer is not currently offered.
Chromebook / LinuxBrowser access is planned; final supported-browser requirements remain to be confirmed.

2. Set up your phone or tablet

  1. Install the approved build. Use the tester invitation for your Apple or Google account. The public website does not provide a private installer or enroll you automatically.
  2. Open PlaySense AI. Follow the supplied account instructions. In the owner-test build, the sign-in entry is labeled Owner sign in. Use your own authorized account; an install does not grant team access.
  3. Check the home screen. The main actions include Record a match, Saved videos, Import existing film, and Account & support. Confirm the intended team and match before any private-data action.
  4. Prepare permissions. When you choose to record, the app explains camera and microphone permissions and your device asks for them. Existing-file import does not require those recording permissions.
  5. Do a short rehearsal first. Check the picture and audio before relying on the device for a full practice or match.

Record a short test

  1. Choose Record a match. Rotate the phone or tablet to landscape and frame the complete court.
  2. Wait until the rear-camera preview is ready. Start recording using the screen’s recording control.
  3. Keep PlaySense AI in the foreground. Do not lock the phone or switch apps; background recording is not supported.
  4. Stop normally and wait for the recording to finish saving. A queue or file warning means you should keep the app open and preserve the available source before retrying.
  5. Open Saved videos, select the recording, and play it. Check the beginning and end, framing, duration, and audible sound.

Keep a separate copy

PlaySense recordings are saved inside the app on that device; they are not automatically copied to Photos. Newer local test builds add Save or share a copy inside a saved video. That update has not reached the current owner store builds yet. If it is not shown, keep the original and wait for an approved update. When the option is available, open the saved video and choose it. Choose an appropriate destination such as Files or AirDrop and verify that the separate copy opens. This workflow is still undergoing device acceptance; do not assume a share sheet opening means a copy was saved.

Sharing may send film outside your team, so check permission and destination. Keep the original in PlaySense. Do not use Remove local video, uninstall the app, or clear app data as a troubleshooting step before preserving your recordings.

Bring in an existing file

  1. Choose Import existing film on the home screen.
  2. Check the Recorded with selection, then choose Choose video file.
  3. Select the original source file and wait for the working copy to be preserved.
  4. Open it from Saved videos and confirm playback. Keep the original phone or camera-card file.

Saved locally is different from uploaded. A saved-video entry does not prove cloud processing, a backup on another device, or availability in the computer app. Cloud upload remains disabled in the current owner review.

3. Set up the computer browser app

  1. Open your approved app link. Use the web address provided with your test access. The public marketing website is not the signed-in coaching workspace.
  2. Sign in with your authorized account. If needed, use the password-reset option. Do not share reset links or passwords. A native-app installation does not automatically sign in your computer browser.
  3. Select the correct workspace. Use the top workspace switcher to confirm organization and team. Available sections depend on your assigned role; changing a selector does not grant access to another team.
  4. Check the team setup. Coaches and staff can review Team, Forms & Consent, and Schedule as their permissions allow. Private-test invitations remain paused; do not use the guide as permission to invite real families.

Build your first practice draft

  1. Open Practice Plans and choose New plan.
  2. Enter the plan details shown on screen, including its title and date where requested.
  3. Choose Add block for each activity. Set its instructions and duration, then choose Save block.
  4. Choose Save draft. Reopen the plan and check its blocks and total duration.
  5. Where authorized reviewed evidence or approved clips are available, attach the relevant material to the practice block.
  6. Keep rehearsal plans in draft. Publish plan is a separate action for an assigned coach or owner; review the intended audience and approvals before using it.

Review film and connect it to practice

This part requires authorized film to be available; a local phone recording does not automatically appear here.

  1. Open Matches, choose the intended match, and select Review film.
  2. Check that the private film is ready and plays correctly. Keep the original even if an upload reports completion.
  3. Review rally and athlete evidence. Correct what happened before treating a suggestion as a verified statistic or finding.
  4. Use reviewed findings and approved clips to support practice blocks in Practice Plans and permitted work in Development.

The current owner-review build does not accept cloud video uploads. Do not repeatedly retry a disabled upload or create duplicate matches. Film review, automatic analysis, and cross-device delivery are not made available by these instructions.

4. Use GoPro footage

  1. Record on the GoPro to its memory card. Confirm battery, storage, framing, and permission before recording.
  2. After recording stops, transfer the original video to your phone or computer using an appropriate camera transfer, USB, or card-reader workflow.
  3. On mobile, use Import existing film and Choose video file. Keep the camera-card originals until copies and playback are verified.
  4. If the camera split the match into multiple files, preserve every part and its order. Do not rename, discard, or join them with an unverified process merely to make one upload.

The app may show Control GoPro recording, Live Bench, or Sideline instant replay in an internal test build. Direct camera control and live replay are still being integrated and tested; they are not required for the file-transfer workflow above or advertised as public-ready features.

5. Run a first-use rehearsal

Use a short approved test clip, not a full game, for the first check. These checkboxes are for this page only; they are not saved as an app test result and reset when the page reloads.

6. When something does not work

I cannot sign in or see my team.

Check that you are using the invited account and the approved app link. Use the sign-in screen’s reset option if needed. If a team or section is missing, contact support; do not create another account or use someone else’s login to get around a role restriction.

The camera is unavailable or there is no sound.

Check camera and microphone permissions in device Settings, then try again when no other app is using the camera. The app may offer Try camera again or Import from GoPro or Files. Preserve any completed recording and check audio in playback before relying on a longer recording.

My video is missing from Photos.

Native PlaySense recordings stay in app storage and are not automatically saved to Photos. Open Saved videos first. Where available, use Save or share a copy and verify the destination before removing anything.

The phone video does not appear on my computer.

Saved videos are local to the recording device. Cross-device availability requires an authorized completed upload or a deliberate separate file transfer. Cloud video remains disabled in the current owner-review build.

An upload or processing step is unavailable or stuck.

Keep the original file. A disabled upload in the current owner test is expected. If a future authorized upload has started, return to the same match or reservation rather than creating duplicates. Check readiness and playback separately before treating it as complete.

I cannot publish or see a coach-only action.

Your role and team assignment determine the available actions. Save permitted work as a draft and ask the assigned coach or owner to review it. Recruiter approval and payment do not grant access to private athlete or team records.

How do I report a problem?

Open Account & support or email [email protected]. Include the device model, operating system, app version, the action you tried, and non-sensitive error wording. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, reset links, private film URLs, or athlete footage.
